There is no such thing as trans. You can get a tattoo, a piercing, clothing, hairstyle, makeup…

We're going to define the word gender but first let's define a few other words starting with male and female and masculine and feminine.

Male and female are terms used in biology to describe sex characteristics of animals and plants. Most of the life forms on the planet are single-celled organisms these include bacteria and. Single-celled organisms do not have sex they reproduce by cell division they just sit there and split in half. Plants and animals reproduce through sex each organism is defined as either a male or a female at reproduction time DNA is taken half from a female half from a male they put together and create a new organism. The sex of an organism is determined by the DNA. Every cell has a nucleus and in the nucleus are the chromosomes which are strands of DNA Masculine and feminine describe traits these terms are not binary they each occur on a spectrum they are not hard and fast rules and can contain variances facial hair usually considered a masculine trait more hair is masculine less hair is feminine hair on top of the head usually the long hair is considered feminine but all not always Thor is a very masculine figure with long wavy hair in the literature of most cultures the Sun is masculine the Moon is feminine a mountain is masculine the river is feminine poets and linguists can go on and on about how these words are used in the Spanish language and in many languages every word has is designated as either masculine or feminine.

Each individual human has hundreds of thousands of traits which might be described as either masculine or feminine or some degree of masculinity or femininity. A male may have feminine characteristics he may be quiet submissive even he may be a lover of art and music and literature he may find the aggression of his mates boring or repulsive this does not make him female he's still a male with certain feminine characteristics he probably also has several masculine characteristics a female might have many masculine characteristics maybe she is aggressive and competitive and rowdy.

So there are seven billion human organisms on the planet each one is either a female or a male and each one of them has thousands of individual characteristics or traits which might be described as either masculine or feminine depending on the culture in which they live. In this way each human being can be unique totally different from everyone around him

When I was young there were two stereotypes John Wayne and Farrah fawcett and many people unfortunately drove themselves crazy trying to fit into one of those stereotypes I remember the day after John Wayne won an academy award I was at the hardware store and the men were gathered around talking and they were outraged the John Wayne had wept for Joy openly on television at the award ceremony they couldn't believe he had betrayed them they had spent their lives trying to be hard stoic men emulating John Wayne's on screen character and were horrified to find out that he in real life has feminine characteristics of softness and tenderness and joy and belonging. Later we had a whole new spectrum of masculine actors Dustin Hoffman, Jack Nicholson, James Dean, Marlon Brando. It is possible to define an infinite number of types of masculinity.

So to summarize our definitions we have male and female which are binary conditions defined by the DNA in the organism. Then we have masculine and feminine which are poetic or literary descriptions of the various traits and organism can have and May sometimes very depending on the time period or the culture.

A man is a male adult human. A a woman is a female adult human.

And what is gender? Well the only times I've heard the word used is when someone is trying to start an argument and so I'm not going to use that word ever. And if I ever hear it used I will flick to scroll the screen immediately.
