The system is used to file FinCEN Report 114, which is mandatory for reporting foreign bank accounts. You do not file this form with your federal tax return. Key Locations to File:

  Main BSA E-Filing Login: https://bsaefiling.fincen.gov/auth/login
  File FBAR (Individual/No Registration): https://bsaefiling.fincen.gov/NoRegFBARFiler.html
  Check Submission Status: https://bsaefiling.fincen.gov/file/fbar/status

Important Information:

Deadline: The FBAR deadline is April 15, but an automatic extension is granted until October 15.
Registration: While you can file as an individual without registering, creating a free account allows you to save drafts and check status.
Authorized Filers: If a third party files for you, use FinCEN Report 114a to authorize them.
Safety Notice: The FBAR filing is free. Be aware of phishing sites that charge to file this form.
