To login to your online IRS account, start at irs.gov.
The system will take you to ID.me which will log you in and authenticate you and then forward you to the IRS secure site at https://sa.www4.irs.gov/ola/

ola = online account

What you can do at your online irs.gov account:

• view a transcript for each year, showing agi, taxable income, tax, payment date and status
• make payments
• view payment history and current balance
• view 1040 filing status
• view information return documents. These are the 1099 and 5498 forms provided to the irs by putnam, dws, and others.

What you can NOT do at your online account is to file the 1040. For that, see Income Tax.

There are two payment methods:

• pay by bank account
• pay by card (external website)

If you pay by bank account you first create an ACH link to your bank account, using the two micro-payments method. Once that is set up you can initiate payments from your online IRS account.
